Day 15

Hello there!

Yesterday was a nice calm and relaxing Sunday in Taipa. I got to Skype with my family and boyfriend which was really nice :) I really wanted to Skype out at the park since it has free wifi but I couldn't connect and when I went to ask for help, the man at the help desk didn't speak English. Go figure! Oh well, I went back to the Portuguese restaurant I went to on the first few days.

After I returned home, I decided I would completely organize my room. I love it now, no clutter. Everything has its place and it is very relaxing for me. I do wish there were carpets though. The entire apartment is hard wood floors. Oh well, makes it easy to clean up I guess.

Once everything was organized, one of the other male student teachers came over to talk about our lessons and how everything was going for us. We eventually ended up at their apartment and decided that a "family" pot-luck would be really nice. We had dinner at about 7. I brought a red wine and some rolls. My roommate made some pasta salad, and the boys made a Filipino soup (which was amazing) and some pork dumplings. It was fun to start the week over a nice meal. I think this will be a weekly thing, alternating the apartment where it is held each week.

This was a very relaxing way to end my weekend.
